Characteristics

Gooseneck cargo enclosed trailer is a gooseneck trailer that is made primarily for hauling cargo. The two main uses of enclosed gooseneck trailers are cargo hauling and car hauling. Cargo haulers have several important differences discussed below when browsing trailers for sale.

Hauling different cargo can provide a challenge in that the size of the cargo can be unpredictable. Making sure cargo and the interior of the trailer are undamaged, it is important to have all cargo tied down so it cannot move. Three main types of trailer tie down exists: E-Track, L-Track (sometimes referred to as airline track) and D-Rings. For cargo hauling E-track and L-Track are the best choices because they provide tie down points in very granular increments. Depending on the size of the trailer, normally there are 4, 8, 12 or 16 D-Rings in a gooseneck cargo trailer. Another accessory that can help with cargo control are load bars.

There are several types of flooring: ply wood/engineered wood, vinyl, ATP and rubber coin to name a view. Each of these types of flooring have different advantages. Ply wood is the lowest cost option because in most cases the ply wood layer is a base feature of the trailer. One main consideration in the choice of floor whether dry goods or goods that contain fluids will be hauled in the gooseneck cargo trailer. Most engineered wood are moisture resistant but if fluids get on normal ply wood and are not promptly cleaned it will cause the wood to rot and disintegrate over time. ATP flooring is the strongest and most durable option but it can be slippery when wet. Rubber coin is a nice middle ground floor, offering decent protection and durability. Due to the face the trailer is an enclosed trailer outside weather is not a consideration.

If the enclosed gooseneck trailer will is used to haul cargo distances that take a day or more to reach a nice option to have is living quarters. Living quarters provide low cost accommodations that can save money over staying at a hotel. To view more information go to our goosneck living quarters page.

Two types of doors exist, ramp door and barn door. When shopping trailers for sale most enclosed trailers will have a ramp door. The rear ramp offers the ability to drive cargo directly in, while barn doors open without the ability to easily access the trailer.
